Max Bennett started his career as an acclaimed stage actor, before making the transition on to the silver screen. Born November 24 1984 in Leystone, East London, Bennett caught the acting bug at the age of 12, when he played Puck in a school production of Shakespeare's beloved comedy "A Midsummer Night's Dream." During his teen years, Bennett studied acting at the National Youth Theatre, plus one year at the Ecole Jacques Lecoq in Paris. Bennett made his feature film debut in 2007 in the French comedy "99 Francs" (2007). In 2009, Bennett was nominated for the Ian Charleston award for best young actor for his roles in "Measure For Measure" and "Mrs. Warren's Profession." He scored his first leading role onstage in a production of "Luisa Miller" at the Donmar. Bennett took on his biggest film role yet when he played Petritsky in Joe Wright's lavish adaptation of "Anna Karenina" (2012). Bennett's return to the stage saw him playing Edmund in "King Lear" at the Chichester Festival Theatre. The production was such a success that it went across the pond, for an equally acclaimed run at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in New York City.
