Maximiliano Hernandez is a character actor working in television and film. A Brooklyn native and veteran of the New York theater scene, Hernandez made his TV debut on a Mexican romance series in 1994 before joining the American market with a sparsely recurring role on "Law & Order" that began in 1997. He made his film debut in 1999 with a prominent supporting role in the small-time crime-thriller "Raw Nerve," and played a bartender in the bigger-budget crime-drama "The Yards" that same year. Hernandez's screen career then went silent until 2004, when he returned to television with an appearance on "Law & Order: Criminal Intent." Crime-dramas had become Hernandez's calling card, and over the next several years he appeared in a whole range of them, from the "Law & Order" spin-off "Conviction" in 2006, to the quirkier FX series "Terriers" in 2010. His film roles, meanwhile, which heated up over the latter half of the 2000s, offered more variation. Hernandez took a small part in the well-regarded independent drama "Namesake," with Kal Penn, in 2006, and then went from appearing in "Pride and Glory," a 2008 crime-drama about police corruption within the NYPD, to playing a police officer in the family comedy "Hotel for Dogs" in 2009. By 2011, Hernandez began landing roles in big-budget Hollywood, appearing in both the action-adventure blockbuster "Thor" and the gritty boxing drama "Warrior."
