A familiar face on Irish television and film since the late 1990s, Michael McElhatton appeared in the hilarious crime flick "I Went Down" in 1997, a film that helped pave the way for a spate of small-screen work that included several miniseries throughout the 2000s. One of the more noteworthy was "Paths to Freedom," a comedy about two ex-cons that McElhatton also wrote. During the early 2010s, he appeared in the acclaimed period cross-dressing "Albert Nobbs," enjoyed a recurring part as the wily Roose Bolton in the series "Game of Thrones," and landed a co-starring role in the historical drama "Titanic: Blood and Steel."
