Michael Woods got his big break playing murder victim Kent Bogard on the soap opera "All My Children" in 1981. Since then, he demonstrated impressive longevity in a diverse array of film and television roles. In 1988, he joined screen legend Robert Mitchum and up-and-coming star Sharon Stone in the TV mini-series "War and Remembrance," an epic account of World War II from the point of view of two extended families. Woods also had success in the 1980s as the star of his own series, "Private Eye," the story of a principled cop-turned-PI in 1950s Hollywood. Also an accomplished stage actor, Woods garnered especial praise for his role opposite Ed Harris in the play "Scar" in 1992. He made a return to daytime in 1999 with a role on "As the World Turns" (and again in 2009 on the same soap opera but with another role entirely). The private eye badge must have suited Woods, because he went on to play an FBI Agent as a recurring character on TNT's popular police drama "The Closer."
