Mickey Gilley was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. He worked in television in his early acting career as well, including a part on "CHiPs" (NBC, 1977-1983). He appeared in a number of television specials, including "The Nashville Palace" (ABC, 1980-81) and "Opryland: Night of Stars and Future Stars" (NBC, 1980-81). Gilley also contributed music to the dramatic comedy "Tough Enough" (1983) with Dennis Quaid. He also worked in television around this time, including a part on "Houston Knights" (CBS, 1986-88). He also contributed to a variety of television specials, including "The Academy of Country Music's 20th Anniversary Reunion" (NBC, 1985-86) and "Country Music Legends" (PBS, 1986-87). He also appeared in the comedy "Gordy" (1994) with Michael Roescher. Most recently, Gilley appeared on "Urban Cowboy: The Rise and Fall of Gilley's" (CMT, 2014-15). Gilley was cousin to Jerry Lee Lewis. Mickey Gilley died on May 7, 2022 in Branson, MO at the age of 86.
