One-time improv performer at the renowned Vancouver Theatre Sports League, Mike Rohl climbed the ladder of filmmaking, from second assistant director, to occasional writer, sometime actor and eventually full-time director. Sometimes billed as Michael Rohl in early productions, Rohl worked as a second assistant director or first assistant director on various Canadian television movies and had his feature film debut doing second unit work on the 1993 comedy "Another Stakeout," starring Emilio Estevez and Richard Dreyfuss. The following year, Rohl served as the second assistant director on the 1994 Canadian television series "Struggle to Survive," starring Neil Patrick Harris, and four episodes of the popular series "Highlander" in 1995 and 1996. With his work on the series "Poltergeist: The Legacy," Rohl found his aptitude for science fiction and fantasy.
