Mitchell Lewis was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Lewis kickstarted his acting career in various films such as "The Flower of No Man's Land" (1916), "The Marriage Chance" (1922) and "The Siren Call" (1922). He also appeared in the Alla Nazimova adaptation "Salome" (1923), "Rupert of Hentzau" (1923) and the Ramon Novarro historical feature "Ben Hur, A Tale of the Christ" (1925). His passion for acting continued to his roles in projects like the drama "The Leatherneck" (1929) with Alan Hale, "The Bridge of San Luis Rey" (1929) and "The Bad One" (1930). He also appeared in "The Cuckoos" (1930). Film continued to be his passion as he played roles in the comedy "The Bohemian Girl" (1936) with Stan Laurel, "Waikiki Wedding" (1937) with Bing Crosby and "Mysterious Mr. Moto" (1938). He also appeared in the Robert Taylor historical film "Billy the Kid" (1941) and the dramedy "Meet John Doe" (1941) with Gary Cooper. Lewis was most recently credited in the Antony Edridge drama "The Big Swap" (1997). Lewis passed away in August 1956 at the age of 76.
