Nicola Peltz's parents were both incredibly successful in their field. Her father, Nelson Peltz, was a billionaire businessman while her mother Claudia (nee Heffner) was a model. Her acting career began at the age of 11 when she landed a role in Christmas comedy "Deck the Halls" (2006), starring Danny DeVito and Mathew Broderick. This was swiftly followed by her stage debut, alongside Jeff Daniels, in "Blackbird" (2007) at the Manhattan Theatre. Her first major role came as Katara, the female lead in M. Night Shyamalan's family adventure "The Last Airbender" (2010). Unfortunately not all the attention was welcome; the film was universally panned by critics and won Razzie Awards for Worst Picture, Worst Director and Worst Screenplay of the year. Peltz herself also picked up a Razzie nomination for Worst Supporting Actress. Peltz bounced back in her television debut on the series "Bates Motel" (A&E, 2013-17), a contemporary prequel to Alfred Hitchcock's classic thriller "Psycho" (1960). Peltz played Bradley Martin, a troubled teen who was one of the few friends of the young Norman Bates (Freddie Highmore). Peltz broke through to a much bigger audience in her most high-profile role to date, playing Mark Wahlberg's daughter in Michael Bay's international blockbuster "Transformers: Age of Extinction" (2014). Replacing Megan Fox as the action series' main eye candy, Peltz started attracting much more media attention.
