Nita Talbot

Prolific film and television actress Nita Talbot began her career in 1949 with several uncredited film roles. Hungry for visibilty, Talbot transitioned to television and appeared on numerous television shows in the early '50s, landing her first recurring role as Gloria on the action series "Man Against Crime." Jumping from show to show, she got her first starring role opposite Larry Blyden on the short-lived sitcom "Joe & Mabel." She landed on film with a supporting role in the comedy "Who's Got the Action?," starring Dean Martin and Lana Turner. 1965 in particular was a good for Talbot, with three films with top stars and heart-throbs: Elvis, Rock Hudson, and Bobby Darin. On television Talbot's career also began to pick up in the '50s and '60s, with roles on the crime comedy series "The Thin Man" and the crime drama "Bourbon Street Beat." One of her best-known roles was as Marya, the Russian spy on the hit war-comedy series "Hogan's Heroes" earning an Emmy nomination for her work. She worked steadily into the '70s. Her next major role was as Judy Evans on the sitcom "Here We Go Again." After a slew of TV parts, Talbot had a small role in the Oscar-nominated thriller "The Day of the Locust," starring Donald Sutherland. The '80s brought more comedic roles in films such as "Night Shift," directed by then-emerging talent Ron Howard. Consistently playing parts on television as well, Talbot was cast as Rose on the sitcom "Starting from Scratch."
