Peter Nero was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. He was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for "Sunday in New York" in 1964. This recognition propelled him to pursue a role in "Jack Lemmon in 'S Wonderful, 'S Marvelous, 'S Gershwin" (NBC, 1971-72). He also contributed to a variety of television specials, including "We the People 200: The Constitutional Gala" (1987-88), "A Capitol Fourth 1989" (PBS, 1988-89) and "Freedom Festival '89" (CBS, 1988-89). He also appeared in "A Capitol Fourth 1993" (1992-93), "The Kennedy Center 25th Anniversary Celebration" (PBS, 1995-96) and "The Songs of Johnny Mercer -- Too Marvelous For Words" (PBS, 1996-97). Nero most recently appeared in "Independence Day 2001" (ABC, 2000-01).
