Actor Phil Abrams graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1982. The early phase of his career found him concentrating primarily on theater. In the 1980s he took on numerous Off-Broadway roles and in the following decade he toured England and Japan with the comedy troupe The Reduced Shakespeare Company. He has enjoyed a prolific output of small film and television roles since his first appeared in the 1994 TV movie "Roseanne and Tom: Behind the Scenes." Any quick glance at his filmography reveals an actor willing to hop from genre to genre. The sitcom "Everybody Loves Raymond" featured Abrams in 1998, while the supernatural drama "The X-Files" used him in an episode the following year. He repeated this trend throughout the rest of his career: he appeared in both the gritty "NYPD Blue" and the satirical "Desperate Housewives" in 2005, in both the gripping "24" and the kid-oriented "iCarly" in 2009, and so on. Abrams has also done extensive and varied film work. 2005 saw him make an appearance in Michael Bay's sci-fi thriller "The Island" while 2007 found him appearing in both the adaptation of the beloved children's mystery series "Nancy Drew" as well as the drama "Saving Sarah Cain."
