Although Phil Hendrie has spent most of his adult career as an AM radio talk show host, he has also spent a fair amount of time as an actor and voiceover artist. In fact, the two roles are not as far apart as one might initially expect. Phil Hendrie is a unique radio host, and not least because he's a left-leaning Democrat in a field dominated by far-right conservatives. Since 1990, his talk show has consisted almost entirely of improv comedy, with Hendrie--a gifted mimic and voice actor--providing all the voices in increasingly outlandish setups, with little if any indication to his audience that the situations aren't real. The resulting phone calls from outraged (and clueless) listeners are often the funniest part of the show. Along with his radio work, the Southern California native has worked regularly in television and film, including various characters on the long-running animated series "King of the Hill," a deluded eco-warrior on Matt Groening's "Futurama," and the voice of the supercomputer I.N.T.E.L.L.I.G.E.N.C.E. in Trey Parker and Matt Stone's film "Team America: World Police." He's also done some live-action work, including a role on the short-lived sitcom "Teachers," a small part in the Will Ferrell basketball comedy "Semi-Pro," and a recurring role on the TV action series "The Unit."
