Phyllis Katz was an accomplished actress, noted for her comedic timing in her roles for television shows. Her acting career began with roles in the series "M*A*S*H" (1972-1983), "The Billy Crystal Comedy Hour" (NBC, 1981-82) and "Cheers" (NBC, 1982-1993). She also appeared in "Wizards and Warriors" (CBS, 1982-83). A few of her roles at the time were also in movies like the Cheech Marin comedy "Cheech & Chong's Next Movie" (1980) and the Cheech Marin comedy "Cheech and Chong's Nice Dreams" (1981). She continued to work steadily in sitcoms throughout the eighties and the nineties, appearing on "The Charmings" (ABC, 1986-88), "Frasier" (NBC, 1993-2004) and "Grace Under Fire" (ABC, 1993-98). She also appeared in "Sherman Oaks" (CBS, 1994-97). She also landed a role in the miniseries "Danielle Steel's "Family Album"" (1994-95). She also lent her voice to "The 'Burbs" (1989) with Tom Hanks. In the nineties and the early 2000s, Katz lent her talents to projects like "The Magic School Bus Family Holiday Special" (PBS, 1996-97), the Eddie Murphy and Ossie Davis box office smash "Dr. Dolittle" (1998) and "Phil Hartman: The E! True Hollywood Story" (E! Networks, 1998-99). Her credits also expanded to "Son of the Beach" (FX, 1999-2002), "Strong Medicine" (Lifetime, 1999-2005) and "Reno 911!" (Comedy Central, 2002-09). Katz most recently acted in the Bill Burr comedy "Zombeavers" (2015).
