Rafer Johnson was an actor who made a successful career for himself in film. Johnson kickstarted his acting career in various films such as "The Fiercest Heart" (1961) with Stuart Whitman, the Angie Dickinson dramatic adaptation "The Sins of Rachel Cade" (1961) and the dramatic adaptation "Wild in the Country" (1961) with Elvis Presley. He also appeared in the comedy "A Global Affair" (1964) with Bob Hope and "None But the Brave" (1965) with Frank Sinatra. He continued to work steadily in film throughout the seventies, appearing in the dramatic sports film "The Games" (1970) with Michael Crawford, "The Last Grenade" (1970) with Stanley Baker and "The Red, White and Black" (1970). His work around this time also included a part on the TV movie "The Loneliest Runner" (NBC, 1976-77). He also landed a role in the miniseries "Roots: The Next Generations" (1978-79). He also was featured in the TV movie "The Kid From Nowhere" (NBC, 1981-82). Johnson more recently acted in the action picture "Think Big" (1990) with Peter Paul. Rafer Johnson died on December 2, 2020 in Sherman Oaks, CA at the age of 85.
