An inspiration to actors, musicians, and those with disabilities, Robert David Hall made a name for himself in more than one area of the entertainment industry. A native of California, Hall graduated from UCLA with a degree in English Literature, but his true love at the time was music. He began playing guitar, piano, and mandolin in various bands throughout the '60s and '70s, and went on to work as a radio DJ in the L.A. area. Things changed dramatically for Hall in 1978, however, when an 18-wheeler truck hit him on the highway, resulting in massive injuries. Hall eventually had to have both of his legs amputated, and henceforth learned to move using prosthetics. Hall began doing work as a voice actor on animated shows like "The Littles" (ABC, 1983-1985) and "G.I. Joe" (First-run syndication, 1985-1986). He soon began appearing in feature films like "Dream Lover" (1993) and "Starship Troopers" (1997). In 2000, he joined the cast of the popular procedural series "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" (CBS, 2000-2015). Hall acted as the chairman for the Performers with Disabilities Caucus for the Screen Actors Guild, and served on the board of directors of the National Organization on Disability.
