Russell Hopton was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Early on in his acting career, Hopton landed roles in various films, including "Ella Cinders" (1926) with Colleen Moore, "Min and Bill" (1930) and "College Lovers" (1930). He also appeared in "Dance, Fools, Dance" (1931), the dramatic adaptation "Street Scene" (1931) with Sylvia Sidney and "Blonde Crazy" (1931). He continued to act in productions like "Lady Killer" (1933), the Edward G Robinson comedy "The Little Giant" (1933) and "One Year Later" (1933). He also appeared in "Men in White" (1934). Nearing the end of his career, he continued to act in the western "Valley of Wanted Men" (1935) with Frankie Darro, "Below the Deadline" (1936) and the Harry Carey comedy "The Last Outlaw" (1936). He also appeared in the drama "Beware of Ladies" (1937) with Donald Cook. Hopton was most recently credited in "Rio Shannon" (ABC, 1992-93). Hopton passed away in April 1945 at the age of 45.
