Ryan Kavanaugh

Once an aspiring rock guitarist, Ryan Kavanaugh rose quickly to become an influential film producer at a young age. An investment banker who was a multimillionaire at age 22 and then nearly bankrupt at 26, he is known for financing a wide range of productions, from prestigious films including "Brothers" to blockbusters such as 2010's "Robin Hood." His first production credit was on the short film "Jerry V. Death" in 2005. He parlayed that experience into producing the zombie feature "Land of the Dead," starring Dennis Hopper. In 2006 he produced two films that are a testament to the range of genres he has worked in: the Will Ferrell vehicle "Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby"; and the political drama "All The King's Men," based on the classic novel by Robert Penn Warren. Other films Kavanaugh has produced include the comedy "I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry," the highly-acclaimed Tom Hanks drama "Charlie Wilson's War," and the 2010 horror-comedy "Piranha."
