Shawn Colvin worked on a variety of projects during his entertainment career. Older music by Colvin accompanied scenes in such dramatic films as "Ramblin' Gal" (1991) starring Deborah Strang, "It Could Happen to You" (1994) with Nicolas Cage and Bridget Fonda and "Georgia" (1995) with Jennifer Jason Leigh and Mare Winningham. An an actor as well as a musician, Colvin took on a part in "Austin City Limits" (PBS, 1974-2015) and "Grace of My Heart" (1996) starring Illeana Douglas. In the nineties, Colvin's music continued to appear on the silver screen, including in films like the dramatic sports film "Tin Cup" (1996) with Kevin Costner, the Jack Nicholson hit dramedy "As Good As It Gets" (1997) and the Bruce Willis blockbuster action picture "Armageddon" (1998). Colvin won a Record Of The Year Grammy Award in 1997. Colvin's music was also featured in the Julia Roberts hit comedy "Runaway Bride" (1999), the dramatic comedy "Serendipity" (2001) with John Cusack and the Geena Davis family sequel "Stuart Little 2" (2002). His music was also featured in the Helen Hunt dramatic adaptation "Then She Found Me" (2008). In addition to his music, Colvin also appeared on-screen in "Heartbreakers" (2001). Most recently, Colvin appeared on the documentary "A.K.A. Doc Pomus" (2013) with Dr. John.
