Shawn Alex Thompson was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. His career began with roles in "Guiding Light" (1951-2009), "The Late Show" (Fox, 1986-88) and "Secret Service" (NBC, 1992-93). He also appeared in the TV movie "Heads" (Showtime, 1993-94). He had an early role on the television special "Working for Peanuts" (HBO, 1986-87). In the early stages of his Hollywood career, Thompson held acting roles in films like the Sonny Bono comedy "Hairspray" (1988). Several more television roles followed in the nineties, including stints on "The Newz" (1994-95). He also landed a role in the miniseries "Danielle Steel's "Family Album"" (1994-95). He next focused his entertainment career on film, appearing in "Rave - Dancing to a Different Beat" (1993) with Eddie Garcia and "Sleeping With Strangers" (1994). He also worked in television around this time, including a part on "The Newz" (1994-95). Thompson continued to exercise his talent in the nineties, taking on a mix of projects like "Borrowed Hearts: A Holiday Romance" (CBS, 1997-98), "30 Years to Life" (UPN, 1998-99) and "Dinner at Fred's" (1998) starring Christopher Lloyd. His credits also expanded to "Rescuers: Stories of Courage: Two Families" (Showtime, 1998-99) and "The Wrong Girl" (NBC, 1998-99). Most recently, Thompson directed "An American in Canada" (Canadian Broadcasting Company (CBC), 2002-04).
