British director Simon Fellows started out in the filmmaking business making commercials, a career path that many directors have taken before him. Knowing that he wanted to break into making features, Fellows directed the short film "Jump" in 2000, which got some attention in the business. It's a darkly comedic tale about a man about to jump off a high rise building which starred Andy Serkis. Fellows's first feature was the horror movie "Blessed," starring Heather Graham as a pregnant woman who discovers that she is carrying the child of Satan himself. He next came out with the straight-to-video Wesley Snipes action thriller "7 Seconds," a heist movie set in Romania. A double whammy of martial arts action films starring Jean-Claude Van Damme followed--"Second in Command," about a U.S. Navy SEAL (played by Van Damme) who must rescue a group of Americans hiding in the U.S. embassy after terrorists try to topple the government, and "Until Death," which featured Van Damme as a heroin-addicted cop who gets a chance for redemption when he tries to take down his former partner. Fellows is probably best known, however, for the gritty modern take on "Alice in Wonderland" entitled "Malice in Wonderland," starring Maggie Grace as Alice.
