Steve Earle brought his musical talents to a variety of films over the course of his Hollywood career. Earle worked on a variety of projects during his early entertainment career, including "Austin City Limits" (PBS, 1974-), "Completely Pogued" (1988) and "Planes, Trains and Automobiles" with Steve Martin (1987). He also contributed to "The 20th Annual Country Music Association Awards" (CBS, 1986-87), "The Beverly Hillbillies" with Diedrich Bader (1993) and "Wild West" (1993) starring Naveen Andrews. In the nineties and the early 2000s, Earle's music continued to appear on the silver screen, including in films like the Demi Moore action flick "G.I. Jane" (1997), the Vincent D'Onofrio dramatic adaptation "Steal This Movie" (2000) and the Kevin Spacey dramatic adaptation "Pay It Forward" (2000). His work was also in the drama "You Can Count on Me" (2000) with Laura Linney. Earle's music was also featured in the dramatic adaptation "Brokeback Mountain" (2005) with Heath Ledger, the Will Ferrell smash hit action-packed comedy "Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby" (2006) and the action picture "The Guardian" (2006) with Kevin Costner. In addition to his music, Earle also appeared on-screen in "Captain Mike Across America" (2007) and "In Prison My Whole Life" (2007) with Yasiin Bey. Most recently, Earle acted in the Jeremy Irvine suspenseful adaptation "The World Made Straight" (2015).
