Born and raised in Australia, Steve Mouzakis' first professional credits came in his homeland. His first appearance came in 2001, on the hit TV series "The Secret Life of Us" (Network Ten, 2001-05). His feature debut came two years later, playing a doctor in the thriller/horror film "Darkness Falls" (2003). A recurring role on the Australian police procedural "Blue Heelers" (Seven Network, 1994-2006) in 2004 was followed by no fewer than fifteen guest roles on shows like "Satisfaction" (Showcase, 2007-09), and "Very Small Business" (ABC1, 2008). In 2009, he made his highest-profile appearance to date when he played Max's teacher in "Where the Wild Things Are" (2009), Spike Jonze's adaptation of the Maurice Sendak story. In 2011, he was in a recurring role on "The Slap" (ABC1, 2011). The Australian mini-series (based on the novel by Christos Tsiolkas) went on to spawn a high profile American remake starring Melissa George. In 2014 he appeared in two features with a supporting role in the American studio film "I, Frankenstein" (2014) and a starring role in the Aussie independent "The Suicide Theory" (2014). In 2016, it was announced that he would play a key recurring role on "Prison Break: The Sequel" (Fox 2017- ).
