Born to a German mother and an Iranian father, German actress Suzan Anbeh left school at 17 to model in Paris. She started acting with a minor role in the 1993 fatherhood teleplay "L'Homme de la maison" and had scarcely appeared in the Antibes romcom "Va mourire" before she was snapped up by Hollywood to poach Timothy Hutton off Meg Ryan in Lawrence Kasdan's comedy "Forget Paris." But, following an uncredited bit in Michael Hoffman's "One Fine Day," Anbeh was back in France for the murderous marital comedy "Five Minute Break." In 2001, she took the lead in the underwater short "Aquarios." But Anbeh was soon back in Germany making small-screen comedies like "Verliebte Diebe" and "Ein Geschenk des Himmels" and such romances as "Heiraten macht mich nervös" and "Heute heiratet mein Ex." While continuing to play Dr. Lara Solovjev alongside Christian Berkel in the popular crime series "Der Kriminalist," she also teamed with off-screen partner Bernhard Schir as a sleuthing shutterbug's assistant in "Denninger - Der Tod des Paparazzo" and a mother finding love in South Africa while searching for her kidnapped son in "Der Kranichmann." But while she remained prolific headlining heart-tugging melodramas like "Ich liebe den Mann meiner besten Freundin," "Sehnsucht nach Neuseeland" and "Wer zu lieben wagt" and horse sagas such as "Im Schatten des Pferdemondes" and "Das dunkle Haus," big screen assignments like "Agnes and His Brothers," "Fay Grim" and "Die Tür" have become rarer.
