T W King went from the lowest-rated soap on the air to the lead in his own series, "Timecop" (ABC, 1997), playing Jack Logan, a law enforcer tracking down criminals who are trying to alter history through time travel. The show, based on the successful Jean-Claude Van Damme feature, however, proved not to be an audience favorite and was one of the early casualties of the 1997-98 season.
