Born in Hong Kong, Tom Wu moved to London as a child and began practicing martial arts at age 10. As a teenager, he competed in international martial arts tournaments, but his interests also turned to the stage. "Godfathers of Hong Kong" (1991) was the first of many supporting roles landed by the young actor. In 1995, he joined with a number of other actors to found Yellow Earth Theater, a company focused on widening opportunities for British East Asian actors. He continued to work on screen, with supporting roles on shows like "Cracker" (ITV, 1993-2006), in addition to parts in feature films such as "Shanghai Knights" (2003), starring Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson. In 2007 he appeared in seven episodes of "Spirit Warriors" (BBC Two, 2010), a show about five kids transported to an ancient Chinese Spirit World. He received a boost in his exposure when he played a supporting role in "Skyfall" (2012), the 23rd James Bond film. Wu was busy in 2014: he appeared in a six-episode arc on season two of "DaVinci's Demons" (Starz, 2013-15), and premiered in his largest role to date, as the blind monk named Hundred Eyes on "Marco Polo" (Netflix, 2014-16), appearing in 18 of the twenty episodes.
