Vincent Elbaz got his start acting when he attended the Cours Florent, one of France's most prestigious acting schools, located in Paris. Following two years at the school, he began to hone his skills by performing in theater productions like "True West" by Sam Shepard and "The Goat" by Rainer Werner Fassbinder. He got his film career off to an auspicious start in 1994 with a starring role in the comedy-drama "Le péril jeune," about four men reminiscing about their youth in 1970s France while waiting at the hospital for their friend's baby to be born. He followed up that performance the next year with his first television role on the drama "Le juge est une femme." Elbaz has no fear of comedic self-deprecation and has proven himself to be especially adept at comedy with roles in pictures like the popular 1997 films "Les randonneurs" and "La vérité si je mens," as well as the 2009 family satire "Tellement proches," where he plays the quirky father, Alain. Elbaz often brings a certain amount of coolness to his roles, excelling at playing rebellious young adults.
