Walter Catlett was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Catlett's career in acting began with his roles in various films like the J Harold Murray adaptation "Married in Hollywood" (1929), "The Golden Calf" (1930) and "Let's Go Places" (1930). He also appeared in "Happy Days" (1930), the comedy "Platinum Blonde" (1931) with Loretta Young and "Maker of Men" (1931). His film career continued throughout the thirties in productions like "Varsity Show" (1937), "Love Under Fire" (1937) and "Wake Up and Live" (1937) with Walter Winchell. He also appeared in "Love Is News" (1937). Nearing the end of his career, he continued to act in the musical comedy "Star Spangled Rhythm" (1942) with Bing Crosby, "My Gal Sal" (1942) with Rita Hayworth and the biopic "Yankee Doodle Dandy" (1942) with James Cagney. He also appeared in the Bob Hope comedy "They Got Me Covered" (1943) and the John Carroll musical "Hit Parade of 1943" (1943). Catlett last acted in the Bob Hope adventure "Beau James" (1957). Catlett passed away in November 1960 at the age of 71.
