William Talman

Actor William Talman was known for his roles on the silver screen. Talman's career in acting began with his roles in various films like the drama "I Married a Communist" (1950) with Laraine Day, the biopic "The Kid From Texas" (1950) with Audie Murphy and the Robert Mitchum adaptation "The Racket" (1951). He also appeared in "One Minute to Zero" (1952). He kept working in film throughout the fifties, starring in the Gig Young crime picture "City That Never Sleeps" (1953), "The Hitch-Hiker" (1953) and "Big House, U.S.A." (1955) with Broderick Crawford. Toward the end of his career, he continued to act in "Crashout" (1955) and the Dana Andrews western "Smoke Signal" (1955). He also worked in television during these years, including a part on "Perry Mason" (CBS, 1957-1966). Talman last acted in the western "The Ballad of Josie" (1967) with Doris Day. Talman passed away in August 1968 at the age of 53.
