Belgian actor Yannick Renier launched his career as a stage actor after studying at Brussels' Royal Conservatory. At the age of 29, he made his film debut with a small role in the small-town drama "Miss Montigny." His breakthrough role soon followed in the 2006 family drama "Private Property," in which he and his younger half-brother, Jérémie Renier, played the twin sons of divorced parents Isabelle Huppert and Patrick Descamps. The critical and commercial success of the film led to a supporting role on the popular Belgian romantic comedy television series "Septième Ciel Belgique" during its 2006-07 season, which raised his profile even further. Moving into leading roles, Renier expanded his range to include key roles in both Philippe Lioret's politically-charged drama about illegal immigration, "Welcome," and the old-fashioned "an Englishman abroad" vacation farce "A Spot Of Bother." His leading role opposite former model Laetitia Casta in the hippie-era period piece "Born In 68" garnered notice, while the moody road trip drama "Going South" cemented his stature as a leading man. However, Renier continued to take smaller character roles as well, including a role in the workplace hostage drama "De Bon Matin" and a reunion with Lioret in the director's romance "All Our Desires."
