An American actress, Pat Crawford Brown, forged an unlikely career late in life after retiring from her teaching job. She made her screen debut in 1985 (while in her 50s) in the TV movie, "Do You Remember Love?," and had guest roles on the sci-fi anthology show, "The Twilight Zone," the legal drama, "L.A. Law," and the sitcom, "Who's the Boss?." She also had small roles in the comedy, "18 Again!," and the low-budget feature, "Cannibal Women in the Avocado Jungle of Death," in 1989. In the '90s, Brown made frequent TV appearances including recurring roles on "Murphy Brown" and the Craig T. Nelson sitcom, "Coach," and began a stint as Sister Agnes on the soap, "Days of Our Lives." She has had many supporting feature film roles, most notably in the Farrelly Brothers, "Stuck on You," in 2003 and Eddie Murphy's comedy "Norbit." She is best known, however, for her role as elderly neighbor, Ida Greenberg, on the hit series, "Desperate Housewives," first appearing on the show in 2004.
