Known for his appearances in slapstick comedies, actor, director, and writer Steven Brill has worked with some of America's favorite comedic actors both in front of and from behind the camera. Brill's acting credits include many small appearances beginning in the late 1980s. One of his earliest was as the assistant director in the 1990 film "Postcards from the Edge," starring Meryl Streep and Shirley MacLaine. Today, his character roster includes a dishwasher in Tim Burton' 1990 film "Edward Scissorhands," a cop in 2001's "Joe Dirt," and the part of Ben's boss in 2007's "Knocked Up." His most successful work as a writer and producer is the "Mighty Ducks" franchise. Brill wrote the screenplays to all three films and served as producer on the second and third films. His other most notable work is the screenplay to the hit comedy "Heavy Weights," which he co-wrote with Judd Apatow, about overweight children sent to a weight loss camp. The film was also the first of his directing credits. Brill has a strong relationship with actor and comedian Adam Sandler, having directed two of his films, 2000's devil comedy "Little Nicky" and 2002's remake of "Mr. Deeds." He returned to directing with 2012's "Movie 43."
