Tom Brooke may have followed in the family business by becoming an actor, but he managed to stake out quite a career of his own. Born in London in 1978, Brooke's father, Paul Brooke, was a well-known name in the world of sci-fi film and television (that's him as Malakili the Rancor Keeper in "Return of the Jedi" [1983]). Nevertheless, Brooke decided to make a go at acting anyway, by training at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. After graduation, Brooke did some theater work, before landing his first onscreen role in the romantic comedy "Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason" (2004). A number of cameo roles on the silver screen followed, in films such as "The Young Victoria" (2009), "The Boat That Rocked" (2009), and "The Veteran" (2011). Around this time, Brooke scored his most high profile gig to date, playing Lothar Frey in season 3 of the super popular fantasy epic "Game of Thrones" (HBO, 2011-). The next year, he enjoyed a small arc as Bill Wiggins in the BBC's highly successful adaptation of "Sherlock" (BBC, 2010-). American audiences got another dose of Brooke when he signed on to play Fiore in Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg's TV adaptation of the underground comic hit, "Preacher" (AMC, 2016-).
